Pair of lounge separation grids, 140.5cm high by 100cm wide each, from art deco period, circa 1925, unsigned french work. Heavy wrought iron model, each grid weighing nearly 35kg. Welded wrought iron set for all coiled and screwed parts for the rest. Welds and assemblies of very good quality. Tiered décor, consisting of three bearings with contrasting coils with straight, sinuous vertical lines. Interesting work alternating flat iron and hammered between straight vertical and sinuous parts giving volume to the whole. Each stud has its fastener (to be sealed in the masonry) and a pivot in its lower part. The positioning of each door is done with the help of a low targette on the ground (see photos) of which they are both equipped, nothing connects them (lotch or lock). They were installed in a large room in a "closed" position leaving a wide passage between the two elements. This allows you to consider blocking one on both and leaving a free fighter for example, or positioning them in two separate frames... However, the highly pronounced cut-out was made to guide the eye from one room to another like a decoration giving a point of escape, which allowed to mark the space while letting the light pass through without partitioning it. We have chosen to present these grids as they are, completely cleaned while retaining their patina and some traces of old paintings (see photos). These grids are ready to lay! Dimensions: at the highest 140.5cm, 67cm high at the lowest, 102.5cm wide for each grid (counting the targette on the ground and the ring of the wall tether) and 1.5cm deep.
