Old Hereké carpet, Turkey, 55 cm x 102 cm, hand knotted wool, 19th century

Old hereké carpet of the mid-19th century in good condition, with very old restorations. Decorated with a star-studded medallion in the centre and decorated with stylized flowers laid on a wine-bound field, closed by two widely decorated and lined borders decorated with geranium flowers, (flowers symbols of turkish knots) followed by knotted stripes of small square flowers. In the spirit and inspiration of persian rugs, these rugs are finely knotted with a very good wool in hereké near the sea of marmara in turkey. A small collection rug full of stylized patterns and natural colours that remain frank. Dimensions: width: 55 cm (1'9" X length: 102 cm (3'8") This carpet has been cleaned professionally and environmentally.
