Lucite, glass & travertine coffee table italian 1970s vintage mid-century

An impressive, large coffee table imported from italy and consisting of a travertine central cube, from which protrudes four clear lucite keys secured by brass fittings. This supports a mammoth pane of bevelled and reinforced glass, 1.5cm thick and of a strength not often seen. The base fits the glass at an x, creating a pleasingly geometric pattern underneath the glass. As this piece is from the 1970s, there is some wear to be expected - in the form of the odd scratch here or there on the lucite and travertine cube. Some patina on the brass fittings. But the overall condition is good, considering its age. Creator: unknown. Place of origin: italy. Date of manufacture: c. 1970's. Period: 1970 - 1979.
