Vallauris rock ceramic basket 1950

This rock ceramic basket from vallauris dates back to the 1950s. The lascaux cave was discovered in 1940. In the 1950s the surveys of the paintings were made and shown to the public. The artists take it and take inspiration from these animals. Here this basket is ceramic, covered with a thick email imitating the walls of the caves and the animals depicted are directly inspired by those of lascaux.
