Marcel breuer, attributed to. Series of six armchairs in varnished blond beech. Seat and backrest trimmed with blond cannage fixed on a tubular structure of round section in chrome and folded steel. Shoulders in varnished blond beech. Italian work done in the 1970s. Dimensions: h 82 X w 60 X d 45 cm. Reference: ls4654781. Marcel breuer (1902-1981) is a hungarian designer and architect best known for being at the origin of the first revolution in design furniture of the twentieth century thanks to the creation of the "wassily" armchair in the 1920s, named after his friend wassily kandinsky. He belonged to the bauhaus school where he produced his greatest works in which the desire to privilege the function of the object rather than its aesthetics is illustrated. He is recognized as one of the most famous designers of the twentieth century.
