Description
Carrara white marble mortar, dating from the late nineteenth century. Used in cooking or pharmacy, this container makes it possible to grind materials that you want to transform into paste or powder, thanks to the action of a pestle. Circular in shape with four overflow parts, these high edges prevent the preparation from coming out during its manufacture. A cavity, facilitating the pouring of the concoction, is visible on one of the overhangs. The marble of which it is made gives it a certain weight, a guarantee of stability during its use. You can allocate a new pestle to this mortar so that it returns to its former use, or imagine a completely different use, such as in pocket trays or as a decorative object. ********* Period: late nineteenth. Very good condition, consistent with age and use. Size: maximum length: 27.5 cm. Maximum width: 27.5 cm. Height: 17 cm. Depth: 11 cm. Weight: 10.6 kg. Ref: 300921.
