Description
Bronze hand bell of medieval style after f. Hemony. " Nineteenth century. Circa 1860/1880. Hand bell called "table", in bronze with brown patina, depicting a chimeric winged dragon or a vouivre, also called sarce (see the summit of the belfry of ghent dating from 1377). It presents a scene of knights clashing in a naturalistic setting. Inscribed in latin on the lip of the bell, "f. Hemony made me in the year 1569". This model with a very beautiful patina is inspired by models of the hemony brothers, françois (1609 france-1667 netherlands) and pierre (1619 france-1680 netherlands), saintiers (bell founders) from a long line of lorraine founders. Lorraine, which was a breeding ground for saints in the seventeenth, eighteenth and eighteenth centuries. Weight: 519 grams. Good general condition.
