Model Wishbone. Design Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen, 1949. Solid wooden chair with braided natural rope seating. Dimensions: L 55 - P 51 - H 76 cm - Seat height at 45 cm The CH24 chair, also called Wishbone in reference to its "Y" backrest, reminiscent of the shape of the bone of happiness (wishbone), is one of Hans Wegner's most famous chairs. It has met with unprecedented commercial success for the designer and would have played a major role in making Denmark a world leader in design. First designed in 1949, for Carl Hansen, the production of the chair has not stopped for more than half a century, proof of its continued success. The curved rear feet of the Wishbone chair give it a graceful shape and delicate appearance, while the upper semi-circular rail, supported by the Y back, adds a touch of elegance to the structure. Sold per unit (700 euros) or per lot.
