Description
A herrade is a wooden container that was used to store and transport water in houses formerly in Gascony. They were equipped with two handles. The women wore them on their heads to bring water from the public fountain to their homes. This herrade is made of zinc and copper. A small lid allows the container to be capped. In perfect condition and beautiful patina. Total height 42cm. Diameter high 19 cm. Diameter in bottom 40 cm.
