This 1920s wooden toilet stand attributed to baumann comes with a ceramic washbasin and jug. It is an extremely versatile piece, that looks amazing in a big bathroom to keep your toiletries and towels or as a beautiful plants holder. The ceramic washbasin and jug are marked 'terre de fer - e. Charbonnier modèle jura - salins', with the signature four-leaf clover. The company w. Baumann & cie is created in 1901 in colombier-fontaine by the swiss emile baumann. The firm was renowned for the production of bentwood children’s chairs. In 1903, the son of the founder, walter baumann takes on the management of the company and he broadens the range of bentwood furniture on offer always. This piece is catalogued as lavabo no. 230 in the trade catalogue from 1926. In good vintage condition. The washbasin presents some minor chips (no cracks) as shown in the pictures. Toilet stand: height 80 cm; length 68 cm (diameter of the washbasin hole 35 cm); depth 56 cm. Jug: height 28 cm; diameter washbasin 36, 5 cm.
