Pirkka dining Set by Illmari Tapiovaara for Laukkan Puu, 1960s

A classic mid-century scandinavian design set by illmari tapiovaara for laukaan puu, finland. Designed in 1955 this set is an early production from around the late 1950s-early 1960s. Each piece carries the makers burnished marks alongside the designer's name. This classic 'pirkka' set is composed of a large table, a bench and three chairs. The bench measures 180 X 26 X 42cm high; the chairs 39 X 40 X 75cm high. The table top has an early sympathetic re-varnish layer, the set has a desirable warm patina.
