Pair of royal worcester egg coddler / pipkin and fine bone china multi flowers design lid. It is believed that royal worcester invented the egg coddler in the late nineteenth century. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, cracks or rust. Made in england. An egg coddler is a porcelain or pottery cup with a lid that is used to prepare a dish called a golden egg. Eggs are hand-cooked and similar to poached eggs, but eggs are cooked slower than a boiled egg. The lid is a secure top that tightens the screws or screws of the dish/cup. The egg or eggs are broken in the buttered coderler and the seasonings of your choice are added. The coddler is then closed with the lid and partially immersed in boiling water for a few minutes. When the eggs are cooked to the desired firmness, the co-pilot is lifted from boiling water, the lid removed and breakfast is served in a nice decorated dish.
