Bronze mortar 1607 HEINRICK, frieze of birds

Large patinated bronze mortar, period violet le duc, in very good condition, sign of wear, very beautiful frieze of birds and flowers in the center, and frieze fe fleurs-de-lys in the upper part, two handles in the shape of dauphin. Original shrunken heel to fit it into a wooden bilot to prevent it from moving when pounding. Heinrick ter horst me fecit anno 1607, inscription on the pass. Dimensions 19cm at the collar, 22 cm with handles, 14.5 cm base. Almost 6 kgs.
