ES101 office chair / Intermediate by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller – 1968

Magnificent ES101 office chair, also known as the "Intermediate chair", designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in the late 1960s. This is an edition from Mobilier International, thus a French production. This model is very rare as it was only produced for 5 years, between 1968 and 1973. Production was halted due to excessively high manufacturing costs. The Intermediate chair is supposed to be a hybrid model between the Executive Desk Chair and the Time Life Chair. This chair has been reupholstered in beautiful cognac leather, but the structure of the chair is in its original condition and has not been modified. It is in very good vintage condition, although the structure does show some signs of wear related to age.
