A unique and highly decorative bonbonnière made of Quimper faience, hand-painted in the Breton tradition of the mid-20th century. The piece features a bright, luminous yellow background, enhanced by a stylised floral decoration and a naive Breton character, rendered with a free and expressive line. The bold palette—yellow, green, blue, and red—gives the whole a joyful and immediately identifiable presence. The shape, with side handles and a domed lid, fits within the classic vocabulary of Quimper workshops. The lid is adorned with a metal horseshoe (copper or brass), securely fixed and integrated from the design stage, which lends this object a unique and endearing character, straddling the line between decorative tableware and a good luck charm. Stamped under the lid and on the base: handwritten mention Henriot – Quimper – France. Likely out of catalogue production, as was common for certain workshop pieces or specific orders. In beautiful vintage condition, with slight signs of use and small irregularities in the glazing, without cracks or chips, consistent with artisanal production and the age of the piece. Diameter including handles 14.5 cm, diameter of the container 10 cm, height without lid 5 cm, height with lid 8.5 cm, length of horseshoe 2.5 cm. An atypical Breton piece full of personality, ideal as a decorative object or a characterful bonbonnière.
