Pair of large earthenware vases from Gien – Polychrome floral decoration – 20th century

Elegant pair of large earthenware vases from Gien, richly decorated with a polychrome floral and vegetal motif inspired by Orientalist and neo-historical designs beloved by the manufacture. Mid-20th century (1950s–1970s). Each vase features: A generous body adorned with scrolls, stylised flowers, and cartouches, An ivory background highlighting green, blue, red, and brown tones, Wide dark brown relief double handles, A base decorated with a geometric frieze, A beautiful decorative presence, ideal on a piece of furniture, a fireplace, or at the end of a console. The decorations are hand-painted, as indicated by the marking under the base. Sold as a pair, perfectly matched. Dimensions. Height: 33 cm. Diameter (at widest point): 25 cm. Perfect condition.
