Set of six vintage earthenware soup plates, signed Faïencerie Nouvelle – Givors France, model no. 8009 Décor Déposé. Their large red and green checkered pattern on an ivory background, highlighted with a thin dark green border, brings a lively and welcoming touch to the table. A bold and fresh pattern, typical of French modernist creations of the 1950s, inspired by gingham textiles and post-war graphic design. Faïencerie Nouvelle de Givors, located in the Rhône region, has distinguished itself with colorful and geometric patterns of timeless charm, which today appeal to lovers of vintage tableware and popular French design. Stamped FN for Faïencerie Nouvelle – Givors France – 8009 Décor Déposé. Diameter 22.5 cm, height 3 cm. Beautiful vintage condition, with minor scratches from use, a chip on the underside of one of the plates, chips, patina of age, and micro-chips on the edges, but without affecting their beauty (see photos). Full of character, perfect for a cheerful table setting in a mid-century revival setting.
