Secretary with drop-leaf in Louis XV style – Solid cherry wood – Chiselled bronze

Secretary with a drop-down front in Louis XV style, made of solid cherry wood, with a provincial structure from the early 20th century. The piece consists of an upper drawer adorned with chiselled bronze in rocaille motifs, a central drop-down front (50 cm) fitted with a beige leather top bordered by a gilded frieze serving as a writing surface, and three lower drawers equipped with bronze handles and rosettes. The interior of the drop-down front features an arrangement of compartments with cut curves and small drawers with bronze handles. The piece rests on curved feet typical of the period, finished with chiselled bronze sabot. The secondary structure of the drawers is assembled in oak, reflecting a traditional provincial craftsmanship. Original lock and key, functional. Workshop report: visible wear on the upper top (scratches, wax loss); leather on the drop-down front damaged, replacement or restoration needed. Cleaning and re-waxing recommended.
