A pair of Köln1 club chairs, produced in the 1970s by the VEB Sitzmöbelwerke Waldheim factory in Germany. These chairs feature a characteristic tulip-like form, with softly curved lines that offer both comfort and visual lightness. The frames and legs are made of metal, giving the chairs a solid and stable structure. During a recent renovation, the chairs were given new padding and reupholstered in a textured navy blue bouclé fabric, which adds depth and a contemporary touch while maintaining the original character of the design. The Köln1 model is a good example of thoughtful 1970s Space Age design – simple, functional, and timeless in its appeal.
