Art Deco service by Charles Grégoire – Limoges & Vierzon porcelain – Golden wheat ears. Elegant 49-piece table service in porcelain. A service combining the purity of Limoges clay with the renowned craftsmanship of the Charles Grégoire factory (Vierzon). Composition of the service: 49 pieces: Porcelain dinnerware set from the Charles Grégoire factory. 22 dinner plates, one of which is chipped. 12 soup plates (very slightly hollow, suitable for saucy dishes) 11 dessert plates. 4 serving dishes: 1 salad bowl. 1 vegetable dish. 2 oval ramekins/dishes. A rare service due to its number of plates, it is perfect for a festive table or for collectors of antique porcelain. The service dates from the period 1920 - 1935. It is part of the Art Deco production. The golden wheat motif is a characteristic of this period, which saw a return to French pastoral symbols, but with the rigour and geometry of the interwar years. Marking: "CG Cie France" and "C.G. Pâtes et Émaux de Limoges - Made in Vierzon". Each piece has a single marking, and depending on the pieces, the marking is different. I would like to point out that the decoration and colour bath are completely identical. Some signs of use and wear, but overall in very good condition considering its age. Condition: 1 chipped plate. The overall condition of the gilding is remarkable for a century-old service. Some wear can be noted on a few pieces, but they also attest to the authenticity of the service, without detracting from the charm of the whole.
