This listing features 3 magnificent and highly sculptural antique Stargazer chairs from West Africa, made from hand-carved wood. The chairs are crafted by the Yoruba tribes, who inhabit the west coast of the African continent, between Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire. The chairs depict human figures engaged in rural tasks - fishing and harvesting. Estimated from the late 19th century. The chairs consist of two pieces - the seat protrudes and passes through the backrest, forming a solid and stable chair.
