Chinese spirit bar cabinet, 1970s

Succumb to the charm of Asia with this superb 20th-century storage unit (circa 1970), which brilliantly combines modern functionality with traditional Chinese aesthetics. Ideal for serving as a bar cabinet or a display buffet in a contemporary or vintage interior. Spectacular narrative facade: the two large front doors reveal a sumptuous animated scene in slight relief, depicting traditional characters in a lakeside and mountainous landscape, near a pavilion of classical architecture. Rich peripheral ornamentation: the side panels are equally impressive, featuring applied and engraved symbolic motifs: floral vases, a lucky elephant, and ritual objects. The piece retains its original patinated brass fittings, including an imposing circular central locking plate.
