An old suspension light composed of a white opaline sphere held by a gallery in chrome metal and aluminium, suspended from a long rigid tubular rod. The design is simple, balanced, and very representative of functional lighting produced between the 1930s and 1950s for schools, offices, corridors of buildings, workshops, or cafés. The opaline ball diffuses a soft and even light while the chrome structure adds a very understated graphic presence. Dimensions: — Total height: 48 cm — Height of the tube: 34 cm — Diameter of the opaline: 14 cm. An old bayonet socket is present. Signs of use consistent with age: small marks on the metal, patinated retaining screws. It has a very beautiful presence once suspended. This suspension immediately evokes: — the classrooms of yesteryear — the corridors of republican schools — the halls of Art Deco buildings — old medical practices — tailoring workshops — popular cafés of the 40s-50s. Perfect in a vintage kitchen, an entrance, a staircase, an office, or above a small table. A light fixture that does not seek to seduce. It illuminates with the seriousness of a teacher from 1937. €95.
