Harrogate is a spa town in yorkshire, england. The georgians obsession with their health, made spa towns extremely popular places to visit. Doctors often advised their patients to visit the seaside to bathe in the sea, take in some bracing sea air and to visit spas where “taking the waters” would they could benefit from the curative powers of mineral waters. Peter smith templeton reimagined the scene at a spa in harrogate for this 1930 lner poster. The town is still a popular a tourist destination and its visitor attractions include its spa waters.
