Basket paper in rattan and wicker

This pretty basket, originally, in the 60s or 70s, a pot cover it seems to me, can have today multiple uses: waste paper basket, pairs of socks, it can also receive gloves and hats in an entrance, or why not your knitting in progress. It's up to you to see what new life you want to give it! It is made of very fine wicker (maybe bamboo parts?), beautifully woven according to different motifs: an artisanal work that must have taken a lot of time! I cleaned it carefully with a brush to remove as much embedded dust as possible for decades, but you can always do better with time and patience. It is in good general condition, still very solid, but does not hide its age: some broken or missing strands, especially on the high edge with a lack on about 1 cm, and on the pattern that adorns the upper part of the perimeter of the basket. It measures 23 cm in height, 25 cm in diameter, and weighs just under 300g.
