"Herbarium" model coffee table by Roger Capron for Vallauris

Elegant round coffee table with a top made of glazed chamotte stoneware tiles, decorated with plant imprints arranged in a radial pattern around a central medallion. The signature "R. CAPRON" is visible around the edge of the tabletop (see photo). This Vallauris ceramic piece is the work of Roger Capron (1922-2006), from the "Herbarium" series, in which real leaves and branches are pressed into the clay and then glazed in honey/ochre tones typical of the 1960s and 70s. The tabletop rests on a three-legged wooden base (mahogany stain). Designer/Workshop: Roger Capron, Vallauris. Period: 1965–1975 (Late 1960s). Materials: Glazed stoneware, cement grout, wooden base. Colors: Ochre and brown, very warm.
