Vintage basket crystal chandelier Bakalowits & Söhne brass, Austria 1970s

A luxurious, palace-style crystal chandelier (basket type) designed and manufactured by the renowned and prestigious Bakalowits & Söhne manufacturer in Vienna in the 1970s. The lamp represents the highest class of Empire/Hollywood Regency style. The structure is based on a wide, richly decorated brass hoop finished with a noble patina, from which densely woven garlands of precisely faceted, fine octagonal crystals cascade downward. The entire piece converges at the bottom, creating a striking closed basket shape, topped with a large crystal ball in the center. An additional decorative feature are the brass arms at the top of the structure, adorned with hanging teardrop-shaped crystals. The chandelier beautifully refracts and diffuses light, casting professional, rainbow-like reflections on the ceiling and walls.
