Pair of vases signed Jean Pointu

A superb pair of glazed stoneware vases made by Jean Pointu, an emblematic figure of Vallauris ceramics, in the 1950s and 60s. These two vases have an elegant, perfectly balanced ovoid shape. The orange-red clay body is enhanced by a flowing glaze in cream, beige, and bluish hues, intentionally irregular, creating a vibrant and organic design typical of Vallauris pottery from this period. Each piece is hand-thrown, with beautiful wheel marks visible on the base. The vases are numbered “019, ” confirming that this is a true matching pair, homogeneous and consistent in style.
