The Locus Solus daybed, designed in 1964 by Gae Aulenti for Poltronova, is a prime example of 1960s Italian design. The structure is characterized by its curved tubular metal frame, which is both minimalist and pop in style. It can function as an elegant daybed/sofa/guest bed(s) for one or two people – a folding section stores discreetly beneath the main structure. Designed to accommodate two single mattresses. The mattresses and their original covers are too worn to be offered for sale. Lightweight yet sturdy, with an open and airy design, it was conceived for both indoor and outdoor use, depending on the chosen fabric. Condition: Very good. Materials: Tubular steel frame, chrome finish. Designer: Gae Aulenti. Manufacturer: Poltronova. Design: 1964. Dimensions: 200 X 87 X 72 cm.
