Superb large terrestrial globe published by Cartes Taride (Paris, Boulevard Saint-Germain) in collaboration with Philips' Challenge Globes (London), dated 1960. A piece that bears witness to its era, with its charming faded colors and its silver metal base typical of mid-century design. With its large diameter of 35 cm, this globe stands out for its decorative presence. Its wide metal base (Ø 24 cm, height 11 cm) gives it great stability and an elegant look, perfect for making it the centerpiece of an office or library. Maritime routes, air lines and old geopolitical names (USSR, Indochina, colonial Africa, etc.) make it an object steeped in history, as decorative as it is instructive. Dimensions: globe Ø 35 cm – base Ø 24 cm – total height approximately 40 cm. Cardboard globe covered with lithographed paper, light metal base (aluminum). Visible patina and wear of time (cracks, small losses, warped areas), but which reinforce its authentic vintage charm. Very beautiful decorative object, perfect in an industrial-style interior, cabinet of curiosities or chic flea market. Generous size, graphic design and retro elegance, right in the vintage decor trend. A perfect globe for lovers of industrial, mid-century decor.
